Peter Buas

A lifelong resident of Ocean City, Buas grew up in Ocean City, where he gained experience in the local hospitality industry by working at the Buckingham Hotel, a family-owned business. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned his law degree from the University of Baltimore. As an attorney at a local law firm, Buas has a background in handling a range of cases, which has given him experience with issues important to residents and business owners in the town.

Buas currently serves as an Ocean City Councilman, a role he has held since 2020. In this position, he has chaired the Police Commission and Coastal Resources Legislative Committee. His campaign for mayor emphasizes his deep roots in the community, his professional background, and his desire to bring a fresh perspective to local governance​
