Rain is already starting to arrive across Delmarva early this morning and will be the story through the first part of our Turkey day. This rain will be light to moderate throughout the morning as the low pressure passes by off to our north and west. This puts us on the warm side of the storm and pushes our temperatures up into the 50s and 60s before the cold front clears us in the afternoon hours. The steady rain from this morning will turn to scattered showers in the afternoon before clearing out in the evening hours. At the moment, we are expecting about 0.25 - 0.50” of rain on average across Delmarva before the system departs tonight. It will also turn breezy to windy today with some gusts over 30+ mph as a bitter blast of cold air arrives this evening.
Friday will be a colder day with highs climbing up only into the 40s and low 50s. With the wind kicking from the northwest, it will feel like the low 40s throughout the afternoon hours. A second blast of even colder air comes across the area late in the afternoon with some extra clouds and maybe even a stray shower or two will be possible. Most are going to stay dry on Friday as the Arctic air settles for the weekend.
Temperatures into Saturday and Sunday will be in the 30s for most of us with wind chill values on Saturday in the 20s. The weather will improve for Saturday before a weak front brings some extra clouds into the forecast for Sunday. The bitter cold will linger into next week with temperatures staying well below average for most of next week as highs only reach the 40s. Morning temperatures will be frigid…and that is being nice for this time of year…with temperatures expected in the 10s and 20s. Remember, for this time of year…we should be in the 30s for morning temperatures.
