SYNOPSIS: An intense coastal low pressure will bring heavy rain and strong winds to the area tonight into Monday. It will turn colder with gusty winds Monday afternoon and it will stay windy and turn even colder Tuesday.

Coastal Flood Advisory Atlantic Coast.

Tonight: Windy with heavy rain.. Wind gusts over 42 mph. Low 59° Wind: SE 18-34 mph. Winds may gust to near 50 mph on the coast after Midnight. Moderate coastal flooding possible in Somerset and Dorchester Counties.

Monday: Rain ends early then slow clearing. Total rainfall from 2-3 inches across the area. Remaining windy, with gusts to 42 mph in open areas. Temps. fall to around 52° by 3 PM. Wind: W/NW 20-42 mph.

Monday Night: Skies clearing, windy and colder. Low 32° Wind: W 10-18 mph.

Tuesday: Mainly sunny with some cloudy spells. Windy and very chilly. High 42-43°. Wind: NW 16-30 mph.

Forecast Discussion:

An intense low pressure center will pass near Delmarva around sunrise and we will see strong winds and heavy rain as it passes. Winds may gust to over 49 mph tonight on the coast with gusts to 40 inland. Rainfall will exceed 2 inches with some spots seeing over three inches.

A Flood Watch is posted for all of Delaware and most of Delmarva through the night. It will stay warm all night with temps. in the 50's. A Coastal Flood Warning is posted for the areas near the Bay in Somerset and Dorchester Counties. A Coastal Flood Advisory is posted for the Atlantic Coast of Delmarva. A Wind Advisory is also in effect with a High Wind Watch for the coastal areas.

Winds will turn to the west Monday morning as the low passes and skies will slowly clear in the afternoon. It will stay quite windy all day with temps. dropping my mid afternoon into the low 50's as colder air arrives. It will stay blustery Monday night and we will drop to near freezing by sunrise Tuesday.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy, windy and very chilly all day as we see gusty winds from the NW around a deep low pressure over New England. Wind gusts to over 30 mph are likely for much of the day Tuesday. A good freeze is likely Tuesday night as winds slowly diminish. Look for lows near sunrise of around 25 degrees.

In the long range: Wednesday through Friday look chilly, but likely dry with temps. in the mid to upper 40's. Morning lows will dip into the mid 20's Wednesday and Thursday morning. It will stay chilly Friday with lows near 28 and highs in the mid 40's. Outlook for Christmas Eve: Partly cloudy with temps. Near 49° in the afternoon.

The average low for mid-November is 30°,with a high temp. of 50°.
