You can feel the difference in the air as we wake up this morning with temperatures in the 40s to near 50 degrees in many places early. The temperature is going to quickly start to climb this morning as the wind starts to ramp up out of the south and southwest. We should see wind gusts this afternoon to 35+ mph and will push our highs into the 60s ahead of this front that arrives throughout the day. The chance of scattered showers arrives by the late morning and early afternoon hours and will be on and off throughout the afternoon and evening hours. It won’t amount to a lot of rain today, but enough to give the ground another quick sip of water since we can still use some rain to continue to get rid of this drought we have been dealing with for months on Delmarva.
Friday brings some cooler air, but we are talking about temperatures only getting into the 50s for highs…which keeps us a little above average for this time of year. We will wrap up the workweek with lots of sunshine before we start to see the clouds increase overnight Friday. Saturday will bring some extra clouds across the area and we can’t rule out a couple stray showers as a pretty good cold front will whip across Delmarva and bring some much colder air in for Sunday with highs only expected to reach the 30s and 40s.
We stay cold on Monday with temperatures in the 30s and 40s for highs as high pressure takes control of the forecast to start the workweek. Warmer weather comes roaring back by mid-week with highs in the 60s for Wednesday and Thursday. This will come with a price as our next weather maker brings rain chances overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
