FORECAST DISCUSSION

Normal high: 59°F. Normal low: 38°F.

With a wind shift to the southwest, we are quite a bit warmer on this Finally Friday than we've been the past couple of days, and it will stay warm through Monday.

As a warm front slides up the East Coast, there is a low chance a few showers could briefly interrupt your Friday evening plans, however no heavy rain is expected. Otherwise, the overnight will be partly cloudy and mild.

With warm, southerly winds, we will warm up into the 70s this weekend (in fact a few inland locations could heat 80°F!). We'll have some clouds mixing with sun over Delmarva on Saturday, and possibly a few showers on Sunday, but again, heavy rain and thunderstorms are not expected.

A cold front will approach on Monday, and showers and thunderstorms are possible. There is a possibility for a few strong thunderstorms to develop. The Storm Prediction Center has all of Delmarva under a 15 percent chance for severe thunderstorms Monday. Given a drop in temperatures from the mid 70s to the upper 50s on Tuesday, it would appear there will be quite a bit of energy released with this cold front. This is still several days away, so there is still uncertainty on the exact timing of any strong thunderstorms, or their intensity, so watch this space for updates.

Temperatures return to more seasonable levels starting Tuesday into Wednesday.

We're expecting another warm up into the 70s by Thursday as the next cold front approaches.

In the long range, temperatures are expected to average above normal, and precipitation above normal for April 4 - April 10.
