It’s that time of the year when we can look forward to seeing fresh off the vine, local fruits and vegetables. Our local farmers take pride in growing food that feeds their families and neighbors everywhere. It’s that community spirit that drives Delaware Grown.  Chief of Community Relations with the Delaware Department of Agriculture, Stacey Hofmann talks about how it works and where you can find great recipes that call for fresh produce.

Right now there is an animal on Delmarva that needs you. Obviously, not everyone can welcome a homeless pet into their home, but you can come to the rescue of our furry friends with food and supplies to stock our local animal shelters. You’ll get that opportunity at our next WBOC and Safford Automotive Rising Tide event this Wednesday. 102.5, WBOC’s Corey Phoebus has more information on how shelters and animals can use your help, as we learn more about Worcester County Animal Control.

A fugitive is defined as a person who has escaped from a place or is in hiding, especially to avoid arrest or persecution. So, if you have to be a law-abiding person, why don’t they have to be? They do and, if you know where they are hiding to avoid arrest, it could mean money in your pocket and they’ll never know who made the call. We have another list of fugitives in today’s Most Wanted Monday.

Every fall, you can count on the team at Spicer Bros. Construction to launch Delmarva’s Neediest Roof Contest. In December, we help the Spicer Brothers team surprise two deserving people on Delmarva with the gift of a lifetime, a new roof. Now, Spicer Bros. Construction is stepping it up a notch, with the inaugural Veteran Roof Giveaway. Spicer Bros. Construction President, Brian Spicer tells us how it works. He also talks about the need for more tradesmen in the area.
