8-year-old Axel Beck, third grader at Showell Elementary School, really enjoys “doing the weather.” His mother, Mary Beth, shared a video with us of Axel telling us the weather and then told us WBOC Meteorologist Brian Keane was Axel’s idol. So we invited Axel to WBOC where we had a surprise waiting for him.
Axel had a great time meeting and doing the weather in front of the green screen with Brian. He expressed interest in the weather and WBOC’s weather app because he had a fear of storms. He would look up when the storms were coming and it would make him feel less scared. It was a fear he faced head on.
Jimmy and Lisa told Axel to leave his resume. “I can hear it now ‘Axel said it would be like this,'” Lisa says.
