Gas prices

SALISBURY, Md.- Triple A says Wednesday November 27th is expected to be the busiest day for Thanksgiving travel.

“Triple A is predicting here in our region about 1.5 million Marylanders will be traveling over this very busy and extended Thanksgiving holiday. The vast majority, about 1.36 million will be traveling 15 miles or more to be with family and friends,” said Ragina Ali with Triple A.

Ali says 80 million Americans are expected to travel to loved ones for the holiday. While most people are driving, Ali says this year, Triple A is expecting an increase in people using alternative modes of transportation like planes and trains.

Ali says while traffic can be a headache, drivers may have something extra to be thankful for this holiday season.

"For those that will be driving to their holiday destination, certainly a little something to be grateful for when they go to the fuel pumps to fill up, we are seeing gas prices trend significantly lower nationally they are more 20 cents less," said Ali.

Ali says the quietest day for travel will be on Thanksgiving day.
