LAUREL, DE - Laurel High School hosted the funeral service and celebration of life for 18-year-old Kylee Robinson, a senior who lost his life in last Sundays shooting incident that also left two other teens, a 15-year-old and 13-year-old injured. The community gathered in sorrow at the school auditorium, where friends, family, and neighbors paid their respects.

Close friends like Keishaun Copes remembered Robinson as a person who could brighten up everyone's day.

“You can have a bad day, but everytime you see him he gonna say your name and he’s gonna throw his hands up, you have to give him a hug, you have to. He kept a smile on your face, good day or bad day – there was never a dull moment with him," said Copes.

Copes said the loss still doesn't even feel real,

“It hasn’t hit me yet. I’m still texting him, I’m still calling him, because he’s still here to me.”

Neighbors tell WBOC it is a tragic reminder to come together,

“Our parents, just get a little closer to your kids, children get a little closer to your parents, get closer to your friends. It’s just sad out here. We’re tired of burying our youth.” said West 7th Street neighbor Yneice Chandler.
