CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. - U.S. Coast Guard and Virginia Marine Police members set to discuss illegal charters during an open house at Coast Guard Station Chincoteague on Tuesday.
Personnel will be available for questions and interviews from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to discuss the importance of verifying the validity of working charters and ensuring they are in compliance with federal safety regulations.
The Coast Guard says the open house will also feature boat tours, a helicopter demonstration (weather pending), activities for children, aids to navigation displays, and boating safety displays.
