OCEAN CITY, MD - Significant changes could be on the way for Ocean City’s 2025 OC Bikefest due to a former promoter no longer being involved.
Touted as the largest motorcycle rally on the east coast, Bikefest was last held in September of 2024 and produced by OC Jams, LLC.
Now, Ocean City officials say that the production agreement with OC Jams is over.
City Manager Terry McGean says the Town had entered into a three-year contract with OC Jams, LLC requiring a $54,014 payment to lease the inlet parking lot as well as a payment of $2 to the Town per ticket sold to offset expenses incurred during the event. McGean says OC Jams LLC is now in default of that contract.
That default, according to McGean, has left 2025’s Bikefest up in the air. Currently without a promoter, this year’s Bikefest is now “in question,” McGean said at a Town of Ocean City Mayor and Council meeting on April 29.
McGean did offer a solution at Tuesday’s meeting, however. Kickin Events, whose owner has previously been a sponsor of OC Bikefest, has offered to take over as promoter of Bikefest for 2025 and 2026, according to Ocean City officials.
The Ocean City Mayor and City Council voted to consider Kickin OC’s proposal to assume the role of OC Bikefest’s promoter on Monday, May 5.
Former OC Bikefest organizer with OC Jams LLC’s, Chase Micheal, was previously arrested in Florida on charges of writing bad checks. According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Micheal is currently being held on fraud charges as well as a violation of court order, for which he is being held without bond.
