MILLSBORO, DE- There is a new medic station in Sussex County to help serve a growing community.

County officials held a ribbon-cutting on Monday to celebrate the grand opening of the new Medic 103 Station on Dickerson Road in Millsboro. Paramedic crews from the station will serve the Millsboro, Dagsboro, and Frankford areas.

The facility opened earlier this year, and officials say they are already seeing an improvement in response times.

"This location gets us much closer to the highway, closer to 113, and will allow for a much quicker response to get to emergencies anywhere from Millsboro, even all the way down to Selbyville," said Sussex County Department of Public Safety Deputy Director and head of EMS, Robert Mauch.

We are told that the new $1.8 million, 4,300-square-foot building features two garage bays to accommodate four emergency vehicles, as well as office and conference space, along with sleeping and fitness areas.
