Jana Ruark joined WBOC as a News Producer in July 2021, shortly after graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in Media Communication and a minor in Journalism. She produces our entirely local 6 p.m. newscast and has won three first-place awards from the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association since joining Delmarva's New Leader.

SUSSEX COUNTY, DE.- All Indian River School District schools will close on Thursday, December 21 for a special election.
District officials say the election will fill the 37th district representative seat that was vacated by Rep. Ruth Briggs King (R-Georgetown/Millsboro). One Democrat and one Republican are running.
Delaware law requires public schools to close if they are being used as polling places for state elections.
