TAYLORS ISLAND, Md. - Fire marshals say a passerby discovered an unoccupied home burning down.

Maryland State Fire Marshals say the fire occurred before noon on Sept. 24 at 4402 Hooperstown Road. Officials say the fire was discovered by a passerby and had already destroyed a majority of the house.

It took 30 firefighters around 45 minutes to get the blaze under control. The home had been unoccupied for several years, according to fire marshals. Officials estimate the damages at around $100,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this fire is asked to contact Deputy State Fire Marshals at 410-713-3780.
