Andy Harris

MARYLAND - U.S. Representative Andy Harris (R) announced Thursday he has filed for re-election for Maryland’s First Congressional District.

Harris’ district encompasses all of Maryland’s Eastern Shore and some parts of Baltimore, Carroll, and Harford Counties.

Harris has represented Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2011. He currently serves on the Appropriations Committee and is the current chairman of the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and other subcommittee on Appropriations. He previously served in the Maryland State Senate.

In his announcement on Facebook, Harris said, “We must hold the majority in the House and put our nation back on track. Let’s Save America!”

Harris’ bid for re-election will be decided first in a Primary election set for May of 2024. The General Election is then slated for November 5th, 2024, with Harris’ current term slated to end in 2025.
