Accomack County Airport Melfa

MELFA, VA - Virginia Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine have announced over $1.5 million in federal funding aimed at improving three Virginia airports, including the Accomack County Airport in Melfa.

“Our local airports support local businesses and help Virginians get where they need to go,” said the senators. “We’re glad this funding will help improve safety and modernize airports across the Commonwealth.”

The Accomack County Airport is now set to receive $304,000 to construct a taxiway, according to a joint statement from the Senators.

The Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport in Weyers Cave as well as the Lee County Airport in Jonesville also were also recipients in this latest round of federal funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
