Updated: Fire That Damaged Three Homes in Slaughter Beach Ruled Accidental

SLAUGHTER BEACH, Del.- The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal has ruled as accidental a fire that heavily damaged three homes in Slaughter Beach on Wednesday afternoon. 

The fire was reported shortly before 2:30 p.m on the 200 block of Bay Avenue.

Firefighters from the Memorial Volunteer Fire Company and several other fire department responded to the scene. 

Investigators say the fire was caused by a house generator on the exterior of the home. 

There were no reported injuries. Heavy fire damage was estimated to be $800,000.
