DENTON, Md.- The Denton Police Department is investigating a deadly vehicle accident that shut down the right lane of eastbound Shore Highway at Deep Shore Road for around three hours Thursday morning.

The accident happened just before 6 a.m. on April 18.

According to an investigation by Denton police, a 2013 Chevrolet utility truck, driven by Craig Raymond Kelly, was stopped at a red signal at the intersection of Shore Highway and Deep Shore Road. That's when police say a 2001 GMC pickup, operated by Larry Cornell Moore, ran into the rear of Kelley's truck. The force pushed the Chevrolet around 100 feet through the intersection before stopping.

Police say Moore, 73, of Ridgely, Md., was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.

Kelley was assessed by EMS at the scene and taken to a local hospital by family members. Officials do not know his condition.

The investigation is ongoing, but officials say no charges are expected to be filed.
