...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
7 PM EST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected
in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

* WHERE...Dorchester, Wicomico and Somerset Counties.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable
locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low
threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above
ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low
lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the
waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

...GALE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH
LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...West winds 15 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt possible.

* WHERE...Tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Smith Point VA,
and Chesapeake Bay and adjoining estuaries north of Smith
Point VA.

* WHEN...From Wednesday evening through late Wednesday night.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions.  Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and waves.

Bless Our Children

Every year the Bless Our Children Campaign works to make the holiday season brighter for Delmarva's less fortunate children with the Bless Our Children campaign.

For more than a decade, Bless Our Children has teamed up with local businesses and members of the community to raise money to buy Christmas presents for needy children in our area. The money raised for Bless Our Children is distributed to charitable groups across the peninsula. These charities then buy gifts for children they know are in need, making sure they have a present to open for Christmas. For the 2023 holiday season, the Bless Our Children campaign raised $338,147.

We appreciate all of the donors that stepped up to the Schell Brothers Challenge. We asked businesses, groups, and organizations to help Bless Our Children by accepting the Schell Brothers Bless Our Children Challenge of donating $1,000. As our thank you, we listed businesses, groups and organizations on the Schell Brothers Honor Roll in order of amount given in increments of $1,000. 

The Bless Our Children campaign is administered by Draper Holdings Charitable Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
